1 Dead, 2 Injured in Crash on 101 Freeway
WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. (Oct. 19, 2022) — A woman is dead and two others suffered injuries in a collision early Wednesday morning on the Ventura (101) Freeway at the Shoup Avenue off ramp in Woodland Hills.
The vehicle was allegedly traveling at high speed when struck the center divider and crashed about 12:28 a.m. on Oct. 19th. At some point, the vehicle also collided with a semi-truck, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The SUV reportedly went off the northbound side of the freeway and down an embankment where it overturned onto its roof, trapping all three people underneath it.
The woman suffered fatal injuries at the scene, but the other two survived with serious injuries.
The Los Angeles Fire Department sent firefighters to rescue the three people from the vehicle. Two people were transported to a hospital for further treatment and the truck driver was treated for minor injuries.
The collision remains under investigation.
