Deadly Collision at Skittone Road and State Route 108
DEL RIO, Calif. (Dec. 14, 2021) — A fatal Del Rio crash happened Tuesday morning at on Highway 108 also known as Patterson Road at Skittone Road, just north of Modesto and west of Riverbank.
The collision took place about 9:44 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 14th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the drivers two vehicles collided due to unknown circumstances. A white 2013 Ford Edge SUV overturned and wound up on its side during the collision with a green Chevrolet. Riverbank police responded and ordered State Route 108 closed at Skittone Road in both directions due to the crash. They redirected westbound traffic from SR-108 onto southbound Coffee Road.

Paramedics responded to help anyone injured in the collision, but it’s unknown if anyone got transported to a hospital. There was at least one fatality reported at the scene. However, police did not mention how many people were in the vehicles, nor what led up to the traffic accident.
Investigators seek to determine fault for the crash on Highway 108 or Patterson Road. Witnesses may contact the CHP.
