Motorcyclist Killed in El Cajon Crash with Truck
EL CAJON, Calif. (May 28, 2021) — An El Cajon motorcycle crash on Johnson Avenue Friday left a 23-year-old motorcyclist dead.
The young man died shortly after the 8 a.m. collision with a truck on North Johnson Avenue. The two-vehicle crash happened just north of West Main Street, according to the San Diego Union Tribune.
The San Diego Police Department investigation indicates the motorcyclist was northbound on North Johnson when a driver in a Chevrolet work truck began to turn in front of the motorcycle rider. The actions of the truck driver reportedly violated “the motorcyclist’s right of way, causing a collision” police said in a statement.
Despite efforts by police and paramedics who treated the motorcyclist, he died at the scene.
Meanwhile, the Chevrolet driver stopped and cooperated with investigators after the motorcycle crash on Johnson Avenue, police said.
