Dump Truck Driver Killed in Fresno Crash; Woman Arrested DUI
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (April 8, 2022) – A fatal Fresno crash happened Thursday, April 7th at Brawley Avenue and Church Avenue between a dump truck and an SUV.
A driver in an SUV was heading west on Church Avenue. The vehicle failed to stop for a stop sign at Brawley Avenue and crashed into the side of a southbound dump truck, according to the California Highway Patrol. The impact caused the truck to swerve into the front yard of a nearby home where it crashed into a tree.
The truck driver, Jeffrey Nazaroff, 59, of Kerman, died in the crash. Meanwhile, police arrested 22-year-old Zdeineb Juarez Calderon of Fresno. She was allegedly driving the SUV while driving under the influence.
Investigators continue to work on the case and witnesses may contact the CHP.
