Woman dragged for 8 miles left at the La Quinta Inn

 Fatal Fresno Hit-and-run Crash Herndon and Millburn Avenues FRESNO, Calif. (May 13, 2022) — A fatal Fresno hit-and-run crash left a woman dead Friday morning after she was dragged for eight miles and left in a La Quinta Inn parking lot.

Police are asking for for the public’s help to find identify the driver caught on video following the crash, according to ABC 30 News.

UPDATE: Suspect, Shawn Ginder, 38, was later arrested by police. Monique Contreraz, 29, identified as the homeless person killed in the hit-and-run crash.

The Fresno hit-and-run occurred at Herndon and Millburn avenues. The victim was reportedly pushing a shopping cart and walking her dog on a leash at the intersection.

A driver in a silver Chevrolet Silverado crew cab pickup truck reportedly struck the woman around 2 a.m. at the Fresno intersection.  Her body became stuck under the pickup and dragged for roughly eight miles.

Authorities later located a person dead in the parking lot of the La Quinta Inn at Shaw and Cornelia.

Deadly Hit-and-run in Fresno

Surveillance footage shows the woman was dragged there by a pickup truck. The driver of the pickup truck exited his vehicle and removed the victim. He left the body in the parking lot and drove away in his damaged pickup truck. and drove away.

Authorities are searching for the suspect in the Chevy pickup truck equipped with a moon roof, a light bar, and a silver toolbox in the bed.

The vehicle has significant front-end damage due to the pedestrian crash.
