2 Killed in Fourth of July Crash in Fresno
FRESNO, Calif. (July 5, 2023) – A fatal Fresno motorcycle accident happened on the Fourth of July at Chestnut Avenue and Clinton Avenue.
Two people riding on a motorcycle died in the collision with a pickup truck around 11 p.m. on July 4th, according to the Fresno Police Department.
Man, Woman Killed in Fresno Accident
A driver in the pickup reportedly struck the motorcycle carrying two people identified as Michael Connors, 55, of Fresno, and Arba Rene Smith, 50, of Clovis, according to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Department.
Although they were both wearing helmets, the man died at the scene and the woman was taken to a hospital where they later died from their injuries. .
The couple on the motorcycle were reportedly leaving the local high school following the fireworks show at the time of the collision, according to Your Central Valley.
Meanwhile, investigators are working to determine fault for the fatal Fresno motorcycle accident.
They questioned the driver of the car and they do not suspect alcohol and or drugs were a factor in the crash.
