Woman Struck, Killed at Olive and Chestnut Avenues
FRESNO, Calif. (August 10, 2022) — Mayra Fisher, 38, of Fresno, died in a pedestrian accident early Wednesday at Olive Avenue between Chestnut and Recreation avenues in Southwest Fresno.
The traffic accident occurred about 5:15 a.m. on August 10th, according to the Fresno Police Department and Fox26News.
A driver in a truck reportedly struck her due to unknown circumstances. Paramedics responded to the scene where they located the Fresno woman unresponsive. They transported her by ambulance to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
The truck driver stopped and cooperated with the police investigation into what happened.
Authorities closed down Olive Avenue due to the traffic investigation.
Meanwhile, this is apparently the 15th fatal pedestrian collision in Fresno for 2022, according to the Fresno Police Department.
Investigators continue to work on the case, but do not suspect drugs or alcohol are factors in the crash.
