Pedestrian Struck, Killed in Granada Hills
GRANADA HILLS, Calif. (Jan. 4, 2022) – A fatal pedestrian accident on Chatsworth Street and Petit Avenue happened early Tuesday morning in the Granada Hills area.
The victim was struck by a vehicle about 4:48 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 4th, according to a report by the Los Angeles Police Department.
The driver involved reportedly left the crash scene without stopping to help the victim.
Sadly, the pedestrian suffered major injuries and died at the scene. No further information is available about the identity of the pedestrian.
Driver Detained for Questioning by LAPD
Meanwhile, a good Samaritan reportedly followed the driver as they fled the scene. The person got into a different vehicle before police located them at a convenience store and detained them for questioning. Police did not make any arrests, but briefly detained the driver for questioning.
Additionally, the Los Angeles Police Department is heading up the investigation into liability for the pedestrian accident on Chatsworth Street.
