Man Struck, Killed in Granada Hills Accident
GRANADA HILLS, Calif. (August 29, 2022) – A fatal Granada Hills pedestrian accident happened on the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway near the Woodley Avenue on ramp in Los Angeles County.
The car accident also left a driver with major injuries. It occurred at 1:15 a.m. in the westbound lanes of the Ronald Reagan Freeway, the California Highway Patrol said.
Someone called 911 to report man wearing black clothes running in the freeway’s slow lanes. Also, there was an overturned black sedan that had crashed into the right shoulder wall.
Meanwhile, a driver in a white Tesla Model Y reportedly called CHP dispatchers about 1:24 a.m. to say he struck a body on the side of the road. The pedestrian suffered major injuries and died at the scene.
Paramedics with the Los Angeles Fire Department responded and rushed the driver of the black sedan to Holy Cross Medical Center with major injuries, the CHP said.
Finally, CHP dispatchers requested a SigAlert and the closure of the Nos. 4 and 5 lanes of the westbound Ronald Reagan Freeway.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the Granada Hills crash.
