Man Sitting in Parked Vehicle Killed in Hayward Crash
HAYWARD, Calif. (Oct. 13, 2022) — An unidentified man inside a parked vehicle died Oct. 8th when a car crashed into his vehicle at West Winton Avenue and Thunderbird Place in Hayward.
The collision occurred about 2:45 a.m. on Oct. 8th, according to a report by East Bay Times. A car crashed into the parked vehicle and left the scene, but it’s unknown at this time if they knew there was someone in the parked vehicle.
Hayward police responded to the scene and located the unconscious man seated in a parked car. Paramedics responded, but he suffered fatal injuries at the scene.
Police did not mention the victim’s age or identity.
Meanwhile, the driver and one passenger from the vehicle that hit the victim’s car apparently returned to the scene, police said.
Investigators are piecing together exactly what happened and will determine if any charges will be filed against the at-fault motorist. The driver who crashed into the parked vehicle is cooperating with authorities.
