Two Men Killed in Head-on Crash in Silverado Canyon
SILVERADO CANYON, Calif. (March 11, 2024) — One of two drivers killed in a head-on crash Saturday night on Santiago Canyon Road was allegedly driving impaired, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The fatal crash between a white SUV and a black pickup truck occurred at around 9 p.m. on March 9th, just west of Limestone Spur Road, the CHP report said.
Authorities say a 34-year-old La Habra man was driving a 2018 Ford and a 42-year-old Santa Ana man was driving 1993 Toyota when they collided head-on.
The La Habra man died at the scene of the crash and the Santa Ana man died at Orange County Global Medical Center.
Both vehicles had major front-end damage after the collision and were towed from the scene.
Meanwhile, traffic investigators report they believe alcohol was a factor in the collision.
The case remains under investigation to determine liability.
