Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on Summit Valley Road
HESPERIA, Calif. (Sept. 29, 2022) — A 27-year-old man died in a Hesperia motorcycle crash early Wednesday morning on Summit Valley Road, just south of Silverwood Street.
The two-vehicle crash occurred about 5:30 a.m. on September 28, 2022, according to the California Highway Patrol Victorville station.
The rider of a 2000 Ducati 750SS motorcycle crashed into the side of a 2013 Hyundai Elantra making a U-turn in front of the bike, according to a report by Victor Valley News.
The motorcyclist and the 23-year-old Fontana woman were both heading southbound on Summit Valley Road. However, the driver in the Hyundai turned towards the northbound lane to make a U-turn directly into the path of the Ducati, the report said.
Sadly, the motorcyclist could not avoid crashing into the left side of the Hyundai. He was thrown off the bike and into the roadway.
San Bernardino County Fire Department paramedics responded and rushed the injured man to Desert Valley Medical Center. He later died from his injuries at the hospital. Also, the driver of the Hyundai Elantra did not report any injuries from the crash.
Investigators are working on the case, but preliminary results indicate that drugs and/or alcohol are not a contributing factors.
Police did not release the name of the motorcycle rider.
