Man, 18, Struck and Killed on Talbert Avenue
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (March 8, 2024) — An 18-year-old Huntington Beach man died Thursday morning in a bicycle accident on Talbert Avenue, just west of Bell Circle in Huntington Beach.
The deadly crash occurred at around 6:15 a.m. on March 7th, according to a press release by the Huntington Beach Police Department (HBPD).
A 26-year-old Fullerton man driving a maroon 2016 Kia Sorento struck the teen riding a bicycle while traveling westbound in the No. 2 lane of Talbert Avenue. The cyclist was riding in the same direction in the bicycle lane on Talbert Avenue when he was hit by the motorist.
Paramedics responded and rushed the injured teen to a hospital, but he died from his injuries.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Kia stopped and cooperated with the investigation.
The HBPD’s Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is working on the case.
