One Killed Car Crashes into Backyard of Home in La Verne Area
LA VERNE, Calif. (May 31, 2022) – One person died when a vehicle crashed into the backyard of a home at 4307 St. Mark Avenue in the La Verne area.
The deadly crash occurred about 9:20 a.m. on May 31st, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Paramedics responded to the crash scene at St. Mark Avenue, near Baseline Road, the LACFD said.
One victim from the crash died at the scene, according to fire officials. The Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner identified the victim who died as William Elfman Jr., 48.
The car reportedly jumped a curb and drove through a wall before it came to a stop in the yard of a residence.
Police closed down eastbound Foothill (210) Freeway from Fruit Street and re-routed traffic away from the area to conduct an investigation into the circumstances of the fatal La Verne crash.
Previously, a news report indicated that two people died, but that is not the case.
