Motorcyclist Killed; Woman Injured in Crash at Mission Beach Intersection
MISSION BEACH, Calif. (Feb. 7, 2022) — A fatal motorcycle versus car accident in Mission Beach happened Sunday night on Mission Boulevard and Pacific Beach Drive.
The deadly crash happened about 9:40 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 6th, according to the San Diego Police Department.
A 25-year-old man riding a motorcycle on Mission Boulevard allegedly ran a red light at Pacific Beach Drive. The rider was allegedly traveling at high speed and crashed into a Volkswagen Tiguan, police said.
Paramedics responded and rushed the young man to a hospital where he later died due to severe injuries.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the 62-year-old woman driving the Volkswagen to a different hospital with complaints of minor injuries to her neck and back, the Times of San Diego reported.
The San Diego Police Department is heading up the investigation into fault.
