Fatal Motorcycle Accident 55 Freeway, Chapman Avenue in Orange
Motorcyclist Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on State Route 55
ORANGE, Calif. (April 23, 2024) — A fatal motorcycle versus car accident happened Tuesday morning on the Costa Mesa 55 Freeway, just north of Chapman Avenue in Orange.
The two-vehicle collision occurred in the southbound lanes at around 5:22 a.m. on April 23nd, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Santa Ana Police Department responded to the scene and located vehicles blocking the HOV and No. 1 lanes of the freeway.
The drivers of a motorcycle, a white Toyota Prius and a silver Mazda 3 were involved in the collision.
The motorcyclist went down in traffic lanes and appears to have sustained fatal injuries, the report said.
Meanwhile, a tow truck came to remove the bike from the freeway at the Chapman off ramp.
Finally, investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the 55 Freeway motorcycle accident in Orange.
