Motorcyclist Killed in Crash with Pickup Truck on Avenue 56
TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (September 15, 2021) – A fatal motorcycle accident on Avenue 56 happened Saturday near Old State Road in Tulare County.
The rider died following a head on collision with a Dodge Ram about 1:15 p.m. just east of Ducor, according to the Sun Gazette.
The California Highway Patrol Porterville station reported a 47-year-old Visalia man riding a 2016 Harley Davison when he came upon a sweeping right curve in the roadway. He traveled westbound on Avenue 56, but reportedly veered across double yellow lines into opposing traffic.
Deadly Head-on Pickup, Motorcycle Crash Avenue 56
The rider collided with an eastbound 2001 Dodge Ram driven by James Baxley, 84, of Hot Springs, police said.
The bike and pickup truck crashed head-on, leaving the motorcyclist with major injuries.
It’s unknown if he died at the scene or a hospital. Also, the CHP report did not mention if the pickup truck driver was injured in the fatal motorcycle accident on Avenue 56.
Meanwhile, the victim’s name will be released after relatives are notified.
The CHP is heading up an investigation into liability for the crash.
