Motorcycle, Truck Crash on Interstate 405 Freeway in Seal Beach
SEAL BEACH, Calif. (Nov. 10, 2022) — A fatal motorcycle accident on the Interstate 405 Freeway just south of Seal Beach Boulevard happened Thursday morning in Seal Beach.
The collision occurred about 4:44 a.m. on Nov. 10th, according to a California Highway Patrol 911 dispatch.
The drivers of a white Caltrans attenuator truck and the motorcycle collided in the carpool lane of the I-405 Freeway, the report said. the truck was a 2017 Ford F-650 and both vehicles were traveling northbound at the time of the crash, officials said.
It’s unknown at this time what led to the collision between the two motorists. However, the 36-year-old Huntington Beach man riding the motorcycle apparently went down in the HOV lane and suffered major injuries. Unfortunately, the motorcycle rider died at the scene.
Police issued a SigAlert and closed down the HOV and Nos. 1, 2 and 3 lanes temporarily.
Meanwhile, investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the 405 Freeway motorcycle accident.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing. Witnesses are asked to call the CHP Westminster Area office at 714-892-4426.
