Motorcyclist Killed in Crash with SUV on State Route 242
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, Calif. (Sept. 28, 2022) — A fatal Contra Costa County motorcycle crash happened Tuesday night on state Route Highway 242 in the Pleasant Hill area.
The collision took place near the connector to the southbound I-680 Freeway.
A driver in a black Toyota SUV reportedly rear-ended the Harley Davidson motorcycle about 11:13 p.m. on Sept. 27th, south of Willow Pass Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The motorcycle became wedged upright under the front of the SUV in the slow lane. Also, the rider was thrown off the bike into the roadway. He suffered major injuries and paramedics transported him by ambulance to a hospital for further treatment, but he later died.
Tow trucks removed both vehicles for evidence.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault.
