Motorcyclist Killed in Crash with Semi-Truck on I-580 Freeway
DUBLIN, Calif. (March 2, 2022) — A motorcycle rider died in a collision with a semi-truck on the Interstate 580 Freeway Wednesday morning, just west of the Dougherty Road off ramp in Dublin, north of Pleasanton.
The deadly, two-vehicle Dublin motorcycle accident happened about 7:53 a.m. on March 2nd in Alameda County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP dispatch reported a person riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle collided with the semi-truck in the No. 2 lane of the I-580 Freeway due to unknown circumstances. The bike went down the the rider suffered major injuries and died at the scene. The Alameda County Sheriff Coroner responded to the scene and will release the victim’s name after family members are notified.
Police issued a SigAlert for the westbound Nos. 1 and 2 lanes of the freeway as they were blocked due to the crash.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the motorcycle crash on the 580 Freeway.
