3-Vehicle Collision at Moorpark Intersection
MOORPARK, Calif. (Jan. 20, 2023) — One person has died in a fatal multi-vehicle crash at Moorpark Road between Tierra Rejada Road and Reed Road in Moorpark.
The deadly collision occurred about 6:28 a.m. on Jan. 20th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials report the drivers involved included a white Chevrolet Traverse, a white Honda Accord and possibly, a third vehicle.
The vehicles blocked traffic in both directions and one of them went into an embankment, authorities said.
Fatal Crash Moorpark Road and Tierra Rejada Road
Paramedics with the Ventura County Fire Department responded and declared one person dead at the scene. They also had to extricate one person trapped in the wreckage. It’s unknown at this time how many people suffered injuries in the collision.
Meanwhile, authorities requested the coroner respond to the scene and closed down the roadway to conduct an investigation into what led to the crash.
The Ventura County Fire Department responded and confirmed one person dead, one critically injured and one non-injury.
Tow trucks removed at least two of the damaged vehicles from the roadway.
Finally, witnesses to the crash may contact the CHP.
