Deadly Collision on Lakeville Highway in Petaluma
SONOMA COUNTY, Calif. (April 17, 2024) — A fatal multi-vehicle crash happened Tuesday on Lakeville Highway near Dustman Road in Lakeville, just south of Petaluma in Sonoma County.
A 22-year-old Rohnert Park man died and four others were injured in the accident.
The traffic accident occurred at around 2:12 p.m. near the intersection on April 16th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officers and paramedics responded to the scene after a Chevrolet Silverado’s OnStar crash detection system alerted them to the accident. They responded to the scene and found both directions of Lakeville Highway blocked by motorists involved in the collision. Authorities closed down the northbound and southbound lanes of Lakeville Highway at Dustman Road.
The drivers involved included a gray 2009 Nissan Versa, a black 2023 Toyota Camry, a blue 2018 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, and a black Ford Fusion, the report said.
Paramedics responded and confirmed the death of the driver from the Toyota at the scene. Meanwhile, they transported four people from the Nissan to Petaluma Valley hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the Lakeville Highway crash in Lakeville, Sonoma County.
