1 Killed, 8 Injured in 3-Vehicle Collision on US Highway 395
MONO COUNTY, Calif. (March 18, 2024) — At least eight people were injured in a fatal 3-vehicle crash on St. Patrick’s Day this past Sunday on US Highway 395 near rattlesnake curve near Mono City.
At least one person died after the collision at around 8:51 p.m. on March 17th, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.
CHP officials reported the drivers of a blue 2016 GMC Sierra crew cab pickup truck, a Toyota Tacoma pickup, and a Subaru were involved in the collision. At least one of the vehicles had major damage and debris was scattered all over the roadway, the report said.
Paramedics and firefighters from Antelope Valley Fire, MWTC Fire and Bridgeport Fire departments responded to help those involved including at least one person trapped in a vehicle.
Authorities closed down the roadway while emergency responders assisted at least eight people with injuries including at least one who was airlifted to a trauma center.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the crash on Highway 395 in Mono County.
