Woman Killed, Man Critical in Crash with Driver in Stolen SUV
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Oct. 5, 2021) – A fatal North Hills hit-and-run crash happened early Tuesday on West Nordhoff Street.
One woman died in the 4-vehicle crash and a man was left suffering from major injuries, according to CBS News 2.
The violent hit-and-run crash was set off by a driver in a stolen black Range Rover SUV in the 16500 block of West Nordhoff Street, police said.
The vehicles collided about 5:30 a.m. on Oct. 5th in the North Hills area of the San Fernando Valley.
North Hills Hit-and-run Crash
Authorities report the suspect was speeding in a black Range Rover southbound on Hayvenhurst Avenue prior to the collision. The motorist allegedly drove through a red light and crashed into a Honda Civic as well as two other vehicles.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Fire Department sent paramedics to the scene where they located two people from the Honda Civic trapped in the wreckage.
The woman driving the Honda Civic died at the scene, police said. However, her passenger survived with major injuries. He was transported by ambulance to a hospital in critical condition.
Finally, the second driver had unknown injuries and a family member drove them to a hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
