2 Killed in Palmdale Car Accident in Solo Crash
PALMDALE, Calif. (Sept. 13, 2021) — A fatal Palmdale crash left two people dead early Sunday morning, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies reported.
The single-vehicle traffic collision happened about 2:45 a.m. at the intersection of Division Street and Avenue Q, police said.
Authorities report a woman driving a gray 2006 Saturn Ion was allegedly speeding on the westbound side of Avenue Q.
She reportedly lost control of the car and crashed into a dirt berm. The vehicle overturned during the collision.
Meanwhile, some witnesses stopped and came to help the occupants of the vehicle. They also called 911 for help.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department sent paramedics to help the driver and her male passenger. They transported them both to a local hospital. Sadly, they both suffered major injuries and later died at the hospital, police reported.
Also, authorities closed down Division Street between Carolside Avenue and Corporate Court. They conducted a traffic investigation into the fatal Palmdale crash. Additionally, the roadway reopened at approximately 7 a.m.
It’s unknown at this time whether or not alcohol or drugs were a factor.
Witnesses or anyone with information about the collision may call Palmdale Station Detective Liz Sherman at 661-277-2400.
