Woman Killed, Man Injured in 2-Vehicle Palmdale Collision
PALMDALE, Calif. (March 12, 2024) – A woman was killed and a man injured in a fatal head-on crash in Palmdale on State Route 18, just west of 263rd Street East.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at around 11 p.m. on Friday, March 8th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
It happened in the westbound lanes of State Route 18 between the drivers of a 2020 Ram pickup truck and a 2018 Ford, the report said.
Police reported James Michael Wolfe, 43, of Palmdale, was driving his pickup truck eastbound and allegedly veered into the path of the woman’s westbound 2018 Ford.
The two vehicles collided and the Van Nuys woman in her 50s was left with fatal injuries, the CHP said.
The victim’s name was not released, pending notification of her family.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Ram was treated for his injuries at the Antelope Valley Medical Center.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the fatal Palmdale crash on State Route 18. Witnesses to the collision should contact the CHP Antelope Valley Area office at 661-948-8541.
