Pedestrian Killed in Freeway Collision
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Nov. 4, 2021) – A fatal pedestrian accident on the Interstate 5 Freeway happened early Thursday morning when a a big rig truck struck the person in the Lincoln Heights area of Los Angeles.
The deadly collision happened about 2:23 a.m. on Nov. 4th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The driver struck the pedestrian on the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway, just south of north Broadway. CHP officials responded to the scene after receiving a call about a truck hitting a pedestrian on the freeway, CHP officials said. It’s unknown at this time why the pedestrian was in the roadway.
Sadly, the unidentified pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner will release the person’s name after notifying family members.
Police closed down all northbound lanes of the Interstate 5 freeway for several hours to investigate the fatal pedestrian accident.
