Man, 26, Killed in Suspected DUI Pedestrian Accident; Woman, 22, Arrested
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (August 12, 2021) — A fatal pedestrian accident on Springdale Street in Huntington Beach early Friday morning resulted in the arrested of a suspected DUI driver near Croupier Drive.
The collision happened just after 12:20 a.m. on August 12th, just north of the Westminster Mall, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department.
Additionally, police arrested a woman on suspicion of driving under the influence after she fatally struck a 26-year-old man crossing the street.
Also, responding police officers located the gravely injured pedestrian after the accident in the road on Springdale Street near Croupier Drive, police said. Sadly, the man died at the scene.

Investigators say the 22-year-old woman was stopped nearby with her car. Prior to the crash, she was northbound on Springdale Street when she struck the victim due to unknown circumstances. She stopped her vehicle and someone called 911 for help.
The woman cooperated with authorities before her arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence.
