Driver Hits Pedestrian at Petaluma Intersection
PETALUMA, Calif. (March 26, 2024) — An elderly man died in a fatal Petaluma pedestrian accident Monday night at Skillman Lane and Thompson Lane.
The traffic accident occurred at around 8:21 p.m. on March 25th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the unidentified man had crossed Skillman Lane to check his mailbox when he was struck by a westbound Land Rover SUV. The driver told responding police officers that “the pedestrian just ran across the roadway and then he clipped him,” the dispatch report said.
Paramedics responded to help the injured pedestrian, but unfortunately the person died at the scene at 8:29 p.m., the report said.
Finally, investigators are working to determine fault for the crash on Thompson Lane in Petaluma.
