Deadly Crash on I-10 Freeway in Redlands
REDLANDS, Calif. (June 29, 2022) — A fatal Redlands crash Sunday happened after a car suffered a flat tire and overturned on the Interstate 10 Freeway.
The Redlands collision occurred about 7:50 p.m. on June 26th. A 2002 Toyota was traveling on the I-10 Freeway, but as it passed the Ford Street off ramp its left tire blew out. The car veered across the freeway and hit a curb before it went down an embankment and wound up on the Ford Street on-ramp, the CHP said.
A 30-year-old man from Mexico suffered major injuries when he was ejected from the vehicle. There were attempts made to save his life prior to the arrival of the Redlands fire Department. They transported him to Loma Linda University Medical Center, but he later died. Also, there are four others who had minor to moderate injuries, the California Highway Patrol said.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
