Man Killed in Rialto Pedestrian Accident on I-210 Freeway
RIALTO, Calif. (May 7, 2021) — A fatal Rialto pedestrian accident happened Friday morning on the Interstate 210 Freeway.
A black Toyota Camry was among several vehicles that struck the man walking in the Nos. 2 and 3 lanes, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Also, witnesses told authorities the man was walking towards traffic and not attempting to cross. It’s unknown why the man was in the roadway.
Several vehicles struck the victim near Ayala Drive, but it’s unknown if all of them stopped.
Fatal Rialto Crash Investigation
A tow truck removed the black Toyota Camry from the freeway due to heavy damage from the fatal Rialto pedestrian accident.
Meanwhile, police issued a SigAlert about 5:33 a.m. Several lanes of the freeway blocked.
Finally, investigators are working to determine why the pedestrian was in the roadway and whether or not alcohol or drugs were a factor.
