Pedestrian Struck, Killed on Florin Road
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (March 3, 2022) — A fatal Sacramento pedestrian accident on Florin Road happened early Thursday morning near 65th Street.
A driver struck the pedestrian about 5:36 a.m. on March 3rd, just east of Highway 99 in the south Sacramento area, according to a dispatch by the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the driver attempted to swerve and avoid several other pedestrians in in the road. However, the vehicle struck one person as it avoided the others. Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene and blocked the westbound No. 3 lane.
Sadly the person suffered major injuries and died at the scene of the Sacramento pedestrian accident on Florin Road. The name, age and gender of the victim is not released.
Meanwhile, the motorist stopped and is cooperating with authorities.
Investigators worked on the case for several hours and the roadway reopened at 7:11 a.m.
