Man Killed, Juvenile Arrested in 2-Vehicle Collision in San Jose
SAN JOSE, Calif. (April 3, 2024) — A fatal hit-and-run cash at Nieman Boulevard and Daniel Maloney Drive happened early Wednesday in San Jose.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at around 4:12 a.m. on April 3rd, according to a press release by the San Jose Police Department.
A driver in a black 2017 Chevy Camaro sedan was reportedly traveling northbound at high speed on Nieman Boulevard. Police say the motorist failed to stop at the stop sign when they reached Daniel Maloney Drive. There are stop signs in all directions of the intersection.
However, that’s where the car collided with a driver in a white 2000 Nissan Frontier pick up truck, the report said. The man driving the pickup truck had been westbound on Daniel Maloney Drive.
The impact of the crash resulted in the immediate death of the man driving the Nissan pickup truck on scene.
Meanwhile, authorities located a juvenile who they believe was the suspect driving the black Camaro. Police arrested the unidentified juvenile and they continue to investigate the fatal crash on Nieman Boulevard.
Police say this was the 12th fatal collision and 12th traffic death of 2024.
The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office has not released the name of the driver from the pickup truck, pending notifying his next of kin.
