Boy, 11, Struck and Killed at Sanger Intersection

SANGER, Calif. (March 8, 2024) — A driver struck and killed an 11-year-old boy Thursday night on Cherry Avenue in Sanger.

The deadly crash occurred at around 6:20 p.m. on March 7th, just east of Bethel Avenue, according to the Fresno County Coroner’s Office. The child was later identified as Jameson Doyle of Sanger.

A driver in a Chevrolet truck struck the victim near Rotary Ball Park due to unknown circumstances, according to the Fresno Bee.

Police responded and officers tried to save the boy’s life, but he died at the scene, Sanger police said.

Meanwhile, the driver involved stopped and cooperated with authorities and the investigation. Preliminary results indicate that alcohol was not a factor in the collision, the Fresno Bee said.

The case remains under investigation.
