Deadly, Head-on Crash on Highway 12, just west of Santa Rosa
SANTA ROSA, Calif. (Sept. 29, 2021) — A fatal Santa Rosa crash on Highway 12 happened Wednesday between Merced Avenue and Llano Road.
The deadly head-on collision involved the drivers of a pickup truck and a white commercial truck with a flatbed trailer, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP reported the collision about 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 29th. The larger truck wound up in a ditch and the blue Ford pickup truck was blocking the roadway. Both of the vehicles suffered major front-end damage in the fatal Santa Rosa crash on Highway 12.
Police closed down the highway in both directions between Merced Avenue and Irwin Lane, the report said.
By 10:55 a.m., the CHP reported there was a fatality involved, however, they did not mention how many people died. Also, the report des not say how many people were hurt in the crash.
Investigators seek to determine liability for the deadly crash.
