Multi-Vehicle Truck Accident on State Route 37/Sears Point Road
VALLEJO, Calif. (Dec. 30, 2021) — A deadly crash happened Thursday, Dec. 30th on the eastbound State Route 37 also known as Sears Point Road in Vallejo, California.
The crash between a Toyota Camry, a big rig truck and a third vehicle happened about 11:30 a.m. near the Walnut Avenue off ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The semi-truck reportedly drove through the center divider of the highway and wound up stuck on top of a K-rail. The truck’s cab was blocking eastbound lanes.
CHP officials reported the red truck went off the roadway and traffic in both directions came to a stop as both directions of SR-37 on Mare Island became blocked by vehicles.
Paramedics responded to the scene of the collision, but there are no further details about the number of people hurt in the crash.
However, the CHP report confirms at least one person died in the collision.
