
1 Killed, 2 Injured in Fountain Valley Crash on Bushard Street
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA (May 21, 2023) – A crash killed one person and injured two others on Bushard Street in Fountain Valley.
According to an article published by The Orange County Register, the tragic accident took place late Saturday night. Officers reported the wreck on May 20 shortly before midnight.
The incident happened when a silver Infiniti FX35 was going north on Bushard Street near Swift Avenue in Fountain Valley. At the same time, a black 2015 Nissan Sentra was traveling south.
For an unknown reason, the Infiniti crossed over the median and went into southbound traffic lane. Police said in the process, the car slammed head-on into the Nissan.
2 Cars Collide
Firefighters soon arrived and pronounced the passenger in the Sentra dead at the scene. The driver of the Nissan sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.
Paramedics then rushed the patient to a hospital and listed them in critical condition. The 34-year-old Hawaiian Gardens man driving the Infiniti survived the incident with non-life-threatening injuries.
Medical personnel transported the motorist for treatment. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, police forced a stretch of Bushard Street to shut down for a time following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Fountain Valley crash is still under investigation.
