1 Killed, 2 Injured in Fresno County Crash at Minnewawa and International
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (May 29, 2023) – A crash killed a woman and injured two children at Minnewawa and International avenues in Fresno County.
According to The Fresno Bee and Your Central Valley, the tragic accident took place on Monday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck on May 29 at around 4:30 p.m. outside of Clovis.
The incident began when a red Mercedes Benz was traveling at a high rate of speed east on International Avenue, approaching Minnewawa Avenue, in Fresno County.
Speeding Driver Runs Stop Sign, Hits Another Car
At the same time, a black Honda sedan was going north on Minnewawa. The California Highway Patrol said the Mercedes ran a posted stop sign and then t-boned the Honda.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived and pronounced the woman driving the Civic dead at the scene. Her passengers, children ages 8 and 10, ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed both patients to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. The names of the deceased and wounded victims have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the area of Minnewawa and International avenues to shut down for hours following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Fresno County crash is still under investigation.
