2-Vehicle Crash Involving Suspected DUI Driver
FRESNO, Calif. (May 16, 2023) – A two-vehicle Fresno crash involving a suspected DUI driver happened Monday night at Perrin Avenue and Maple Avenue.
The collision occurred around 8:18 p.m. at the Fresno intersection between the drivers of a white Acura and a second vehicle, Your Central Valley News reports.
A woman driving the Acura was traveling eastbound on Perrin Avenue and attempted to turn left onto northbound Maple Avenue. However, as she entered the intersection on a green light, a second motorist allegedly failed to stop at a red light and collided with the Acura, according to Fresno police.
Paramedics responded to the scene and helped those injured including the driver from the second car who was taken to a hospital with undisclosed injuries. Authorities told Your Central Valley News the driver in the Acura was “lucky to be alive.” While she was able to walk away from the crash, it’s unknown if she also had injuries.
Meanwhile, police suspect that the driver of the second car was driving under the influence of alcohol and or drugs at the time of the collision.
The case remains under investigation.
