Suspected DUI Collision on Highway 101 in Gaviota
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (April 11, 2024) — A Gaviota crash on Highway 101 involving a DUI driver left four injured early Thursday morning in Santa Barbara County.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at around 1 a.m. on April 11th, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department and Noozhawk.
The traffic accident happened in the southbound lanes, just south of Mariposa Reina.
Both vehicles had major front-end damage and one wound up in the center median and the other was blocking the left lane, police said.
Paramedics responded and rushed four people to the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital including a woman with moderate injuries and three others with minor injuries.
Meanwhile, one of the drivers was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence.
The CHP is heading up the investigation in the Highway 101 crash in Gaviota.
