Motorcycle Rider Killed in Crash on Reeds Creeks Road
Red Bluff, California (May 19, 2022) – Gitan Whelan, 52, died in a motorcycle accident involving another motorist on Reeds Creek Road in Red Bluff.
The collision occurred near Johnson Road about 4:35 p.m. on May 13th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The motorcycle rider was reportedly traveling westbound on a 2018 Aprilia Dorsoduro bike on Reeds Creeks Road. He allegedly veered into opposing traffic due to unknown circumstances.
Gitan Whelan reportedly collided with a 2015 Nissan Rogue driven by Lisa Mann, 41, of Red Bluff. She was traveling in the opposite direction on Reeds Creeks Road with two passengers, ages 9 and 12 years old. None of them were hurt in the crash, but Gitan Whelan suffered fatal injuries and reportedly died at the scene.
Police do not suspect alcohol and/or drugs played a role in the crash.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault.
