Coroner ID’s Man Killed in Crash into Big Rig Truck

 Gomez Nuno Killed in Santa Fe Springs Crash Excelsior Drive (Jan. 2)SANTA FE SPRINGS, Calif. (Jan. 4, 2021) – Juan Gomez Nuno, 42, died after the car he was driving in crashed into the back of a big rig truck on Excelsior Drive in Santa Fe Springs.

The crash happened at 7:21 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4th at 13538 Excelsior Drive, according to the Whittier Police Department. The car reportedly crashed underneath the back of the big rig’s trailer, police said. The driver became trapped in his vehicle and died at the scene.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office identified Juan Gomez Nuno, but did not mention his city of residence.

The Whittier Police Department is heading up the investigation into the cause of the crash and liability.
