Head-on Collision on Byron Highway in Contra Costa County
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, Calif. (April 1, 2021) — A silver Lexus and semi-truck crash on Byron Highway Thursday morning happened in the Mountain House area of Contra Costa County.
The head-on crash between the two vehicles resulted in the closure of a portion of Byron Highway.
Car Accident in Contra Costa County
The 3:30 a.m. semi-truck crash happened on Byron Highway between Bruns Road and Mountain House Road in Byron, according to the California Highway Patrol. At least one person suffered injuries in the collision, however, there were no further details. Also, police did not release the identifies of the drivers involved.
Additionally, powerlines were down in the roadway, according to the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District. Pacific Gas and Electric also responded and the roadway was closed for several hours.
A tow truck removed the heavily-damaged Lexus from the scene.
