Hemet Woman Struck, Killed on State Street
Hemet, CA. (April 22, 2024) – Janet Goldenstein, 64, of Hemet, died last week in a pedestrian accident on North State Street in Hemet.
The fatal crash occurred just before 12 a.m. on Thursday, April 18th, according to a report by the Hemet Police Dept.’s Communication Center.
A driver reportedly traveling north on State Street struck the pedestrian in the 300 block near Oakland Avenue and called for help, the report said. It’s unknown what direction the woman was walking when she entered the roadway.
Police officers responded and located the woman in the roadway and unresponsive. Despite lifesaving measures to save her life, the woman died at the scene. She was later identified by the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle stopped and cooperated with police and the investigation.
The Hemet Police Department’s Traffic Bureau is working on the case.
