Woman Killed on State Route 94; Boat Falls Off Trailer Hits Vehicles
JAMUL, Calif. (February 5, 2022) – Jennifer Kathleen Nichols, 48, of Bonita, died Saturday when a boat fell off a trailer on State Route 94 (Highway 94) and struck several vehicles at Honey Springs Road.
The deadly crash happened about 6:21 p.m. on Feb. 5th, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.
After the boat came off, officials said it struck one or more vehicles traveling behind it on SR-94.
The CHP logged the case shortly after 6:20 p.m. Paramedics responded and immediately provided help to at least one person trapped in the wreckage. Jennifer Nichols reportedly suffered major trauma as a result of the crash. She was transported by ambulance to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego where she died a short time later at 9:26 p.m. the same day.
The California Highway Patrol is heading up the investigation into the crash.
