Victim Killed in Hit-and-run Pedestrian Accident
OLD RIVER, Calif. (July 8, 2022) — Jesse Sanchez, 27, of Bakersfield, died in a pedestrian hit-and-run crash Saturday morning on Highway 119 in Old River.
The victim’s name was published in the Taft Midway Driller.
The collision occurred about 3:30 a.m. on June 25th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials are now searching for the suspect who drove a Honda Accord that struck the man on Highway 119 and left him for dead.
A driver in a westbound Honda struck Jesse Sanchez as he walked on the highway partially in the westbound lanes.
The motorist left the scene, but police found the vehicle abandoned nearby on Par Street in Old River.
Meanwhile, authorities closed down Highway 119 for two hours to conduct their fatal pedestrian crash investigation.
