Pedestrian Hit by Car is Identified
CERES, Calif. (April 3, 2023) – John Younan, 56, of Ceres, died in a pedestrian accident Sunday morning on Mitchell Road near Whitmore Avenue in Ceres.
the tragic accident took place early Sunday. Officers reported the collision on April 2 at around 12:30 a.m., according to The Modesto Bee and KCRA News,
A 17-year-old Modesto boy reportedly struck the pedestrian due to unknown circumstances. The vehicle hit the Ceres man in the 2700 block of Mitchell Road near East Whitmore Avenue.
Teen Driver Hits Pedestrian on Mitchell Road
Firefighters and paramedics then arrived and found the victim down on the ground. The individual sustained serious injuries as a result of the accident.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the patient dead at the scene
Meanwhile, police added that the driver of the car stopped and stayed at the scene following the collision. Police also closed down Mitchell Road to to investigate the incident.
The cause of the fatal Ceres pedestrian crash is still under investigation. Witnesses can call the police at 209-538-5678.
