Elderly Man, Woman Killed Car Accident in Sun Village
SUN VILLAGE, Calif. (March 4, 2024) – Jose Maldonado, 83, and Daphne Maldonado, 87, both died and a third person was injured in a crash Sunday at East Avenue T and 106 Street East in the Sun Village area of Los Angeles County’s Antelope Valley.
The collision occurred at around 7:45 p.m. on March 3rd, according to California Highway Patrol.
The drivers of a red pickup truck and a red sedan collided head-on and both had major front-end damage from the collision.
Jose and Daphne Maldonado were riding in the red car and became trapped with major injuries. They were both pronounced dead on scene, police said. The Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner later identified them.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the unidentified driver from the pickup truck to a hospital for treatment of major injuries.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the fatal crash in Sun Village.
