Passenger in Hyundai Killed in Crash with Truck on I-10 Freeway
CABAZON, Calif. (March 15, 2024) — Joseph Rios, 32, died on Wednesday night in a crash on the westbound Interstate 10 Freeway, just west of Main Street in Cabazon.
The Menifee man was riding as a passenger in a white Hyundai Sonata when the driver collided with a big rig truck and went off road into a tree, The Patch reported. The truck driver failed to stop and fled the scene.
The deadly crash occurred at around 6:36 p.m. on March 13th, according to the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office.
Joseph Rios was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, but he passed away roughly 90 minutes later. Meanwhile, the driver of the Hyundai had minor injuries and was also taken to a hospital.
The CHP is heading up the investigation into the fatal Cabazon crash on the 10 Freeway.
