Man Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on Freeway in Long Beach

 Juan Garcia, 22, Killed in Crash on Long Beach 710 Freeway LONG BEACH, Calif. (May 18, 2022) –  Juan Garcia, 22, died in a two-vehicle crash on the Long Beach (710) Freeway in Long Beach.

The Los Angeles county sheriff coroner identified the young man on their website.

The crash occurred about 5:50 a.m. on Saturday, May 14th in the southbound lanes of the freeway between Long Beach Boulevard and Del Amo Boulevard.

The drivers of a Ford pickup truck and a Honda Civic were involved, the California Highway Patrol reported. The pickup reportedly overturned onto its side during the crash and the car caught on fire.

Firefighters responded and rescued one person trapped in the wreckage. Also, Juan Garcia suffered major injuries and died at the scene. Two others suffered injuries in the crash and an ambulance took them to a hospital.

Also, police issued a SigAlert at 6:27 a.m., closing all southbound lanes at Long Beach Boulevard.

Investigators are piecing together evidence and will determine fault for the Long Beach crash.

Finally, there is a Go Fund Me account toto raise money for a memorial and funeral for Juan Garcia.
